Experience Ingolstadt

Sights

Old Town & Sights

From the Kreuztor to the Asam Church – a stroll through the historic old town, almost all of it comfortably reachable on foot.

Old Town & Sights

Ingolstadt’s old town is compact, well preserved and ideal for a walk. From the apartment, most destinations are just a few minutes away on foot.

The Kreuztor

The Kreuztor is the city’s landmark – a late-Gothic city gate from the 14th century and one of Ingolstadt’s most famous photo motifs. From here, the old-town axis leads straight into the centre.

Churches & squares

The Liebfrauenmünster is one of the largest hall churches in Bavaria. Also worth a visit is the Asam Church Maria de Victoria with its famous ceiling fresco – a highlight of southern German Baroque. Around the Rathausplatz (town hall square) and the Theaterplatz you will find cafés and shops for a break in between.

New Castle

The New Castle (Neues Schloss) today houses part of the Bavarian Army Museum. The complex itself, with its mighty walls, is worth a look.

Tip: The main destinations are so close together that a relaxed half-day stroll is well worth it. It’s best to check current opening hours shortly beforehand.
