The protection of your personal data is important to us. Below we inform you which data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose and on what legal basis – and what rights you have.

2. General information on data processing
As a matter of principle, we only process our users' personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website as well as our content and services. Processing is regularly carried out only with the user's consent or where a legal basis permits the processing.
Depending on the processing operation, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), (b) (contract or pre-contractual measures, e.g. for enquiries), (c) (legal obligation) and (f) (protection of legitimate interests, provided that your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms do not override them).
Personal data is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage beyond this takes place insofar as it is provided for by statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial or tax law); after these have expired, the data is routinely deleted.
3. Provision of the website and server log files
Each time this website is accessed, the system automatically collects data and information from the accessing device. The following data may be stored in server log files: the browser type and version used, the operating system, the previously visited page (referrer), the sub-pages accessed, the date and time of access, and the IP address.
This data serves to deliver the website correctly, to ensure the security and stability of the system, and for technical administration. This data is not combined with other data sources, nor is it evaluated for marketing purposes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a technically error-free and secure operation of the website pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
This website is operated by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin (hereinafter "Strato"), which processes the aforementioned data on our behalf. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Strato. According to STRATO GmbH, the IP addresses contained in the server log files are stored for a maximum of seven days and then anonymised; thereafter it is no longer possible to establish a personal reference. Further information can be found in Strato's privacy policy at https://www.strato.de/datenschutz/.
4. Contacting us and the enquiry form
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or via the enquiry form on this website, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, contact details, desired period, room preference and the content of your message) in order to handle and respond to your enquiry.
The enquiry form on this website does not transmit data to a server of its own. Instead, when you submit it, a pre-filled e-mail is opened in your e-mail program, which you then send to us yourself. The data transmitted in this way is subsequently processed as in ordinary e-mail correspondence.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as your enquiry is aimed at concluding or initiating a contract; otherwise, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Your data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
5. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies for analysis, tracking or advertising purposes and does not integrate any web analytics services (such as Google Analytics) or social media plug-ins. No cross-user tracking and no automated profiling take place.
6. Fonts, icons and external content
All fonts and symbols (icons) used for display are delivered directly from our own server (self-hosting). When this website is accessed, no connections to external providers such as Google Fonts or content delivery networks are established for this purpose, and no data is transmitted to third parties.
Google Maps (linking)
This website does not embed Google Maps directly but merely links to the map service. Only when you actively click on such a link will you be redirected to Google Maps and data – in particular your IP address – will be transmitted to Google. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google's privacy policy applies, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Rights of the data subject
If your personal data is processed, you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller as a data subject:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR) to the data stored about you and the further circumstances of the processing,
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) of inaccurate or incomplete data,
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), insofar as no statutory ground for exclusion applies,
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format,
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR) to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation,
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) with effect for the future.
To exercise these rights, an informal notification to the contact details listed under item 1 is sufficient.
8. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
9. Validity and amendment of this privacy policy
This privacy policy reflects the status of the most recent update. As our website develops, or due to changes in legal or regulatory requirements, it may become necessary to amend this privacy policy. The current version can be accessed on this page at any time.
